FUNDING
With rising CO2 emissions and the soaring prices of fossil fuels, it’s no wonder an increasing number of energy users are switching to renewable energy. Government backed funding for renewable technologies such as heat pumps, solar panels and biomass boilers means that there has never been a better time to switch from fossil fuels to renewable energy.
What is the Energy Comany Obligation?
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a UK government scheme for homeowners and private tenants which is designed to address fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions. The scheme is funded by the major energy suppliers and provides 100% grant funding for energy efficiency measures including solar panels, heat pumps and home insulation.
Eligible households can upgrade their existing off-gas boilers or electric heating with an air source heat pump central heating system and solar panels. Any additional measures including wall and roof insulation can also be covered by non-repayable grant funding.
